Laura Terpsma is a healthcare attorney with Chapman Law Group in the Michigan office. She is certified in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) and adds extensive experience in audit and compliance to the team. Previously, she worked for a Fortune Global 500 company as the Government Compliance Officer, giving her a unique perspective into compliance including, commercial regulatory analysis and risk assessment, privacy and regulatory investigations and developing key compliance initiatives. Her experience includes leading regulatory investigations to evaluate business risks and providing recommendations to leadership to maintain compliance with Stark, anti-kickback statutes, HIPAA, the Affordable Care Act, Privacy standards, and Federal and State Regulations.
Laura is as an adjunct professor and LSAT tutor. In addition to teaching, she conducts online strategy seminars for prospective students and both live and web marketing pieces to local universities, area bar associations and Fortune 500 partners to build relationships and encourage enrollment.
Laura is a certified yoga instructor and spends time teaching locally as well as with the Africa Yoga Project, a Nairobi based nonprofit. Laura annually travels to East Africa to assist in Africa Yoga Project’s annual 150-person teacher training as Team Lead.
Laura graduated from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and went on to graduate from Brooklyn Law School cum laude in 2003. She and her husband live in Milford, Michigan where they spend time on their mountain bikes, yoga mats or adventuring to new locales.
