Manufacture’s Sales Rep Receives $191,000 After Attorney Poorly Argued Contract Dispute

Client retained Defendant to file lawsuit against former employer for unpaid commissions. Client had a verbal contract with former employer which was reduced to writing several years after verbal contract. Defendant ignored written contract and argued verbal contract which resulted in the Judge granting Defendant’s Motion for Summary Judgment stating there was no oral contract. The court stated there was a written contract and since Defendant failed to argue a written contract they abandoned the argument. Legal malpractice suit against client’s former attorney was settled following discovery.
