Lucas et al v. Ulliance 2018
Chapman Law Group filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of three nurses and a P.A., against the Michigan Health Professional Recovery Program (HPRP) and the Department of Licensing and Regulatory Affairs (LARA) for forcing health professionals into unnecessary substance abuse treatment and suspending their licenses for failure to comply. The suit is currently ongoing but given that this is such an important issue for many of our clients, we intend to provide regular updates regarding the status of the litigation.
HPRP and the State of Michigan filed a second round of motions to dismiss attempting to dismiss Plaintiff’s claims of Americans With Disabilities Act violations and breach of the HPRP contract. Chapman Law Group was successful in overcoming HPRP and the State’s challenges to the case and the case will proceed into discovery.
Now that the case is in discovery, it is vital that we hear from those affected by HPRP, its breach of the contract with the state and the injuries suffered by health professionals in the State of Michigan as a result of both the State and HPRP’s actions.
